La Casita
A quiet country retreat with a romantic guest house on one of the most picturesque stretches of year-round Bear Creek perfect for swimming, canoeing, and fishing.
You will experience ultimate tranquility and privacy on these 12 acres where you can walk almost anywhere barefoot.
Inside
Mexican styled guest house situated on 1500 feet of year-round creek front. The newly renovated Casita has a fully functioning kitchen, dining area, and an enlarged bathroom with new shower.
It provides ample space for three people. There's a long queen-sized bed and a long single bed.
A View
The ceiling is vaulted and three large windows look out over the creek and cliff beyond. Being completely separate from the main house this utterly charming space ensures your privacy and serenity.
Gorgeous even in winter.
A small covered pavilion is located just outside - ideal for romantic dining or enjoying star lit nights.
The Space
As the only guests (there's only one Casita!) you can enjoy the creek and grounds in privacy, have use of the larger pavilion, the canoe and other outdoor amenities.
Your privacy is important to us! However, we are in the main house to answer any of your questions.
Enjoy fishing, swimming and canoeing anywhere from the second dam to the low water crossing.

"Wow! Just wow! is all we can say about this place! Our little family loved it so much! It was the perfect weekend get away for us. Barbara and Alston were absolutely amazing as well. We enjoyed canoeing, fishing (catch and release), floating, swimming, lounging and relaxing! Their home is honestly a little slice of heaven. And they are so amazing for wanting to share their slice of heaven with others. They were the best at giving us space, and truly wanted us to enjoy their home. And honestly, we loved talking to them! So we made sure to have a conversation when we did see them! We will definitely be booking here again! We travel a lot... but this was by far our most favorite family trip. Thank you both so much, Barbara and Alston ♥️ We needed that family time."
"Just returned from a wonderful trip! We stayed for 4 days and had an amazing, relaxing time at the Casita. The Casita is tastefully furnished, the bed is comfy, the property is gorgeous, and we had everything we needed to kick back and unwind. There were loads of books and magazines that I read all of, when I wasn’t floating in the creek serenely. My partner brought his fishing rods and was thrilled to catch a lot of fish. When we weren’t swimming or fishing we were just sitting outside and taking in the peaceful ambience. We were happy to be so close to home and yet still feel so far away from the city and our day to day life. We’ll definitely be back!"

“Our stay in the Casita at Barbara’s and Alston’s place was beyond anything we could have expected!! The Casita itself was absolutely perfect and along with the beautiful nature surrounding made our stay seem almost too good to be true. The location just outside of Austin makes for a perfect getaway from the city life. We enjoyed our daily meals outside in the tiny gazebo. The creek running thru was perfect for morning and evening swims. The property is surrounded with many large pecan, walnut, and oak trees so although it was triple digits we still were able to spend the majority of our time outdoors. Barbara and Alston allowed us to pick plenty of sweet pears from their trees. There was also a concrete pad nearby the gazebo that was perfect for daily yoga. Although Barbara and Alston also live on property we rarely saw them and it felt as if we were the only ones around. Highly highly recommend if you’re looking to get away for a peaceful weekend or even longer.”
“The pictures do not do this property justice! You feel like you are a million miles away from any city and tucked away in the hill country, though you can be downtown in a few minutes. The perfect quiet creek getaway with all the city convenience, it's the perfect location to get out and go hiking with Hamilton Pools, Jacob's well, Barton Creek, and Greenbelt trails right around the corner. Barbara was a great host, promptly greeted us upon arrival, provided fresh fruits, local coffee, and a couple of snacks. I was visiting to get some work done. The wifi connection was great for video conferences and running business systems, which I have found to be rare when you get away from the city. I would highly recommend anyone to book with Barbara and Alston, I know I will be returning!”

"The Casita is so cute. We loved the Mexican theme decor with such a beautiful view of the creek. The hosts provide a lot of essentials and extras that made our stay comfortable and convenient. Plus they let us use their bbq grill. We got to ride “tippy”. Barbara provided local sightseeing tips. We got to do some activities in Austin. Just above and beyond of what we expected! My daughter rates it 100 stars ⭐️! Everything was perfect and we hope to visit again sometime!”

"The photos don't do it justice! The casita is very clean, cute and cozy with lovely views of the river. They make it so welcoming~ I sat by the river for an hour to soak in the sun and dipped my toes in the water. I would recommend this spot to anyone that needs a little get away. It's still close to downtown Austin and Salt Lick is a couple minutes away!"

It was easy to get downtown for whatever I needed to do, but the total solitude and peacefulness of this property was incredible: it's silent, the place floods with sunlight in the morning, you can hang out on the banks of the creek and listen to the water (or swim!!), and at night the stars are so beautiful. Didn't want to leave!”
